Service Opportunities

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9

Service alongside one another a large part of our community life. We each serve in some way on Sunday mornings with preparation, hospitality, child care or teaching. There is always more help needed to support this time of Sunday worship. Let us know who you would like to serve or what areas you’s like to learn more about by filling out this form: Volunteer Form.

How You Can Serve Others

“New Day” Women’s Drop-In Center
New Day is an organization that serves women who are trapped in prostitution and sex trafficking. They are regularly in need of volunteers to sign up for evening hours at their center near Kensington and Lehigh Avenues. Several volunteers from liberti serve monthly or more frequently. If you are interested in getting involved, contact Adriel Ruff. More info here.

Foster Care Support
We are always looking for ways to support our local foster care agency (APM). Whether you are interested in being a foster parent yourself, or just looking to support the organization, please contact AnnMarie Schultz.  One ongoing need is for more “care bags” — these are bags of items to comfort each child entering the foster care system during a time of stressful transition. Please contact AnnMarie to find out about ongoing needs. You can also donate by clicking the “Donate” button:

Alpha Care

AlphaCare is a nonprofit organization that assists women who find themselves in crisis pregnancy situations or are pregnant and needing support in some way. AlphaCare provides various services from free pregnancy tests, resources on options for pregnancy, post abortion and post miscarriage counseling, parenting classes, material assistance (clothes, baby items, diapers, wipes, formula, maternity clothes, etc.), childbirth classes, adoption counseling, and referrals for medical or legal services. AlphaCare provides resources on adoption, women’s health during pregnancy, prenatal development and facts about abortion. Visit their website for more info, or contact Kate Martinez.

Visit members and friends of church members wherever they may be to encourage them. (Hospital, mental health facilities, prisons, the streets, etc.) – contact Ryan Egli.

Life Nights
Every summer we open up the church for families in the neighborhood to enjoy various activities including arts and crafts, sports, Bible lessons and movie nights. – contact Alan Popoli.

Meals Outreaches
Liberti has outreaches throughout the year that brings food to people in need. The largest meal event is done every Easter as we deliver 2,000 meals in celebration of the resurrection

Emergency Preparedness and Response Team
Last Sunday Anthony Buller explained how Liberti can be ready to serve the congregation and community after emergencies (fires, natural disasters, etc.), but we need interested volunteers to join the effort.  If you’d like to learn more and/or have a voice in developing our emergency preparedness strategy, please email: anthony.buller@yahoo.com.
