In the New Testament, Paul reminds Corinthian Christians of the motivating principle for their generosity. He writes: “For you know the generous act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8.9)
At Liberti it is our practice to offer a sacrificial portion of all of our resources—time, skills, possessions—as an act of faith and gratitude in response to God’s grace, and to support the work of the church in our immediate community, our city, and our world. We give the church the opportunity to give during our worship services, because it is a tangible act of worship—an expression of deep gratitude to God for his generosity to us in Christ.
