Each year we change our home meeting routine from June through August in order to take advantage of the unique community-life opportunities that summer provides. The alternative summer schedule below is not a break from home meetings—think of it as an opportunity to “train other discipleship muscles”. 


Goals for summer home meetings @ liberti east

• To continue providing a venue for community, care, and discipleship to those who are currently a part of our home meetings.
• To grow in living out and speaking the gospel to neighbors, particularly through welcoming neighbors into community through hospitality events, and serving the community through “Life Nights” (6/19-22) and our bi-monthly Visitation Team trainings/visits.

Home Meeting Gatherings
Our last week of normal home meetings are scheduled for the week of 6/10-16, and the following week will be our annual “Life Nights”, which we hope many of our home meeting attenders will participate in (more info below). After that, we are asking home meetings to meet just four times for the rest of the summer—during the first and third weeks of July and August (see schedule on the next page). We would like all of the home meetings to meet on these same weeks, so that we can announce ahead of time on Sundays when the home meetings are gathering. 



Each home meeting is free to plan their own gathering for each of these weeks—we ask only that it be accessible to visitors and neighbors, and that you invite your friends and neighbors to come! Examples would be a BBQ/picnic, service project, game night, outdoor projected movie on your block, block party, etc. (It can be simple, and you can also feel free to team up with other HMs at different times.)  I will be in touch with your HM the week before to find out the details, so we can also let Sunday visitors know what is happening. 

Leaders: use this as an opportunity to delegate and empower others!  Have another member(s) of your group lead the plans for these five events. Let me know who the point-person for your group is by Sunday 6/17.  I will follow up with them throughout the summer to get the details for your gatherings.

Life Nights (Tues. 6/19 - Fri. 6/22, 7-9 p.m.) & Music/Arts Camps (Sundays in July)
“Life Nights” is our annual outreach to neighborhood children and families, and as usual we are relying on our home meetings to spread the word and supply many volunteers to help with games, lessons, arts & crafts, and snacks. Contact joe.marlin@gmail.com if you can help. We are also in the process of planning a kids’ band & arts camp on Sundays in July.  More to be announced on this the next few weeks. 


Visitation Team training and outreach
The liberti Visitation Team has developed a number of trainings to equip our people to reach out to neighbors that we met during our Easter Outreach. These trainings will focus on an array of topics, from “helping others without hurting them” to “how to share your faith”, and will all take place at liberti east on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, through August 11th (see schedule below). After each training, those in attendance will visit several neighbors who received a meal during our Easter Outreach. We will particularly focus on families who explicitly requested a follow-up visit. 


Please encourage members of your home meeting to attend these trainings and visits, and help us maintain our ongoing ministry to these neighbors in need.
