Tara grew up in Allentown, PA and earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Arcadia University, where her love for campus ministry was cultivated. Upon graduating in May 2004, she served with Mission Year in Southwest Philadelphia and became convinced of two things: first, she wanted to practice the lifestyle of being a good neighbor in a specific neighborhood, second, she desired to use her gifts, time and passions to serve Philadelphia in a holistic way. After serving as a 5th grade teacher at a charter school in North Philadelphia, Tara began serving in a campus ministry context at Temple University in partnership with liberti church. She currently lives with her husband Alan just a few blocks from liberti, and works full-time as CCO (Coalition for Christian Outreach) staff at Temple.
